Compress & Resize Images Without Uploading

Compress and resize JPG, PNG and WebP photos right in your browser. Re-encoded locally, so photos are never uploaded and EXIF GPS metadata is not copied.

Run it in your browser

Free · no sign-up · files stay on your device

Everything runs in your current browser. Selected files and text are not sent to our servers. Some tools download a small engine the first time you run them.

Launch the tool

How to use it

  1. Add one or more JPG, PNG or WebP photos.
  2. Pick the output format, quality and maximum long-edge size.
  3. Compare before/after sizes and download the results.

How much smaller will my photos get?

It depends on the original format and your settings. Lower quality values and a smaller maximum long edge produce smaller files, and the before/after sizes are shown side by side, so you can adjust while looking at real numbers.

For services with upload limits (resumes, government forms, communities), check the required maximum size first and set the tool to match.

Choosing the output format

JPG suits general photos and web uploads. PNG keeps text-heavy screenshots sharp. WebP produces smaller files at similar quality, though some older programs cannot open it.

Very low quality can introduce banding or blur. For important photos, adjust quality step by step and check the preview.

What happens to location and camera data

Photos may contain capture date, GPS location and device model. This tool redraws pixels onto a new canvas and re-encodes them, so EXIF, GPS and XMP metadata from the original is not copied into results.

To share photos without location data, share the downloaded result instead of the original. Your original files are never modified.

Scope and limits

Up to 30 photos per run, 50 MB per file, 200 MB total and 40 megapixels per image. Files outside these limits are excluded with a notice.

Re-compression can shift color profiles and fine detail slightly. For print-critical originals, do not replace them with results.

Frequently asked questions

Are photos uploaded to a server?

No. Selected photos are processed inside your current browser.

How is location metadata removed?

The tool redraws pixels onto a new canvas and re-encodes them, so EXIF, GPS and XMP data from the original is not copied.

How many photos can I process?

Up to 30 photos per run, 50 MB per file, 200 MB total, 40 megapixels per image.

Do colors change?

Slightly. JPEG and WebP are re-compressed at your chosen quality and re-encoding can shift colors marginally.
